Terra Alta is a Spanish D.O. (Designation of Origin) for wines located in the west of the province of Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain) and covers 12 inland municipalities. As the name indicates (Terra Alta = High Land) the area is in the mountains.
Priority production of white wine elaborated with “Macabeo” and “Garnacha Blanca”. They are powerful, tough, great body and high graduation. The “Cariñena”, “Garnacha tinta” and the “Peluda” is used for rosés and reds.
