The Conca de Barberà is a southern Catalonian region with an extension of 649 km2. Its natural conditions, together with its history and traditions, make it a privileged zone for cultivating grapevine and elaborating excellent wines and cava.
In general, we can speak about a Mediterranean climate of transition between the coast and the continental.
It is a zone with privileged conditions for the elaboration of tranquil wines, specially excellent reds. Vine growers and oenologists that know about this potential are co-ordinating their efforts to obtain high quality wines and, little by little, the product, that is finally bottled as Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin, grows.
