D.O. Valencia brings together a total of 13,000 hectares of vineyards, along four subzones (Alto Turia, Moscatel, Valentino, and Clariano), with an average annual production of over 650,000 hectoliters of wine, which are made from different varieties of grapes, some of them native.
Red  and Rosé wines are mainly made with the varieties with more oenological vocation of the zone, Tempranillo and Tintorera, and others of recognized world-wide quality like Merlot or Cabernet-Sauvignon. White wines are mainly made with: Merseguera, Malvasía, Macabeo, Verdil, Semillón and Chardonnay. Important is the production of liqueur wine "Moscatel", from the grape must: Moscatel Romano or Alexandria, very sweet, unctuous and very pleasant.
